Part 3 Update Released!


Journeys and Jazz: The Fruits of the Gods has been updated to Part 3!

Explore the city of Alicia, visit the Jazz Club, Enter a hot dog eating contest, or maybe enter the Colosseum!
This update adds around 2-3 hours of content!

New in this update is an overhaul to the Luck system. Now there is a Luck dependent chance for a missed attack to become a hit or an attack to become a critical attack. You can also have skills be casted for free! There is a small animation whenever one of these effects occur.

This update also features many balance changes and more that you can read below!

 Balance Changes:

  • Added 2 new difficulties
    • Gifted - All EXP received is increased by 50%, and all DMG received is decreased by 15%
    • Punished - All EXP received is halved, gain 2x gold and more items from combat 
    • Difficulty can be changed any time inside of the journal
  • Luck Overhaul
    • All characters have a static Luck stat
    • Luck stat can cause rerolls for misses, and non critical hits
    • Luck stat can also cause skills to not use any MP or TP
    • Various enemies have had their lucks stats altered
  • All party member's crit chance has been increased to 5% (from 4%)
  • Leonard Changes
    • Energizing Melody now gives 25 TP (from 20)
  • Seleth Changes
    • Increased Magic Attack
    • Increased Magic Defense
    • Icicle Smash Changes
      • Icicle Smash now has 60% hit rate (was 55%)
      • Icicle Smash MP was increased to 60 (from 55)
      • Changed Icicle Smash's damage formula
    • Changed Ice's damage formula
    • Increased Taunt’s target rate slightly
  • Dreck
    • Decreased Magic Defense
    • Increased Taunt’s target rate slightly
  • Tezca Changes
    • Increased Magic Defense
    • Inverse Strike buffed
      • Inverse Strike deals 10% more damage
      • Inverse Strike now costs 5 more MP
      • Inverse Strike is now slightly slower
      • Warm-up now gives  10TP (From 5)
    • Armor Piercer damage buff
    • Adjusted stats on Venom Claws
    • Traveling Samurai’s Epic Slash damage buff
  • Armor Changes
    • Added paralysis resist to Dirty Cloak
    • Merchant’s Boon lowers stats by 2.5% (from 5%)
    • Sailors pride increases Luck by 5 points instead of 2.5%
  • Item Changes
    • Energy Drink now gives 25 TP
    • Dung bomb’s poison chance increased from 75% to 85%
  • Status Changes
    • Blind hit rate reduction reduced (-50% to -33%)
    • Enemies cannot have their unused attacking stat lowered (Ex: Nergs cannot have their magic attack lowered)
  • Max level is now set to 40 (From 50)

Misc Changes:

  • New UI colors
  • Battle animations are now all 25% faster
  • Updated nw.js (Game should run smoother)
  • Items menu minor overhaul
  • Some items were given more specific descriptions
  • Updated skill menu ordering.
  • Changed the icon for Earth Skills
  • Optimize was removed from the equipment screen
  • Cleaned up Tezca Sprite a bit
  • Fixed various typos
  • Part 1 Changes
    • Enhanced Kobold art
    • Enhanced Mermaid Thug’s Battle Art
    • Added new dialog to mysterious voice
    • Reverted a change to Nerg Lady’s movement route
    • Hospital cost has been reduced from 25G a person to 5G in Part 1
    • Kobolds in hideout have a slightly smaller vision radius
    • Added a free heal right before Part 1 boss’s main path
    • Thug now has slightly less HP and evasion
    • Kobold brawler now drops more gold
    • Kobold Archer’s Tranquilizer now costs 10 TP (from 5)
    • Reduced Kobold Mage’s MP
    • Kobold Mage’s heal now recovers 50% of target’s max hp
      • Kuzgar recovers only 25% from this
    • Can no longer get multiple Nerg Shell Shields
    • Added nothing option in Bangle shop menu
    • Hidden Potion no longer is infinite
  • Part 2 Changes
    • Enhanced Sailor’s art
    • Added nothing option in Bangle shop menu
    • Added a hidden item c:
    • Fixed Leonard finding infinite amounts of 5G in a trash can
    • Bangle’s theme now plays when interacting with him even if player did not meet him in part 1
    • Fargus’s heal now heals a set 50% of the target’s HP instead of using his Magic Attack
    • Seagulls now drop more gold
    • Gobble Up changed to recover 50% hp rather than 400 (Essentially identical)
    • Gobble Up now costs more MP
